BarnTalk Web Portal

Enjoy more administrative capabilities and make faster updates to ensure your animals and barns are covered

Overview

The BarnTalk Web Portal allows users to access their BarnTalk data from a web browser. From there, some simple functions are available for ease of use. A Web Portal user can see all of the Gateways and sensors that are part of their network in one centralized platform.
New functionality will be added to the BarnTalk Web Portal on a regular basis.

Click here to download the Web Portal User Manual if you prefer a more in-depth PDF guide.

The BarnTalk Web Portal - Full Control Over Your Sites

Once you're logged in to your web portal you have complete control of the following options and settings:

  1. Viewing your feed inventory and bin-by-bin comparison with a couple clicks
  2. Viewing all Gateways and sensors installed at your sites on a single page
  3. Setting alarm thresholds in bulk and viewing alarm history
  4. User management and control of your call tree(s)
  5. Data exports for regular reporting or audits

Improved Feed Monitoring and BarnTalk Sensor Management

  1. You can now view all of your sensors on a single page and decide to set filters based on what’s most important for the day. Even better, you’re able to edit and manage information reported by those sensors directly from that single page.
  2. We’ve also included an ability to overlay feed graph data for any BinTalk sensors installed across your Gateway(s). This gives you a quick visual inventory reading to help you make quick decisions and analyze trends

Overlaying BinTalk Feed Inventory Readings

If you’d like to graph a visual reading of BinTalk sensors across your site you can accomplish that quickly by clicking on the “Sensors” tab on the left hand side of your web portal.

  1. From there, simply change the right drop-down at the top of your screen to “BinTalk"
  2. You can then select to view BinTalk on All Barns, or just a specific Gateway
  3. There is also a search bar in the very top right corner which makes finding a specific Gateway easier if you have a long list

Once you have the list of BinTalk sensors pulled up

  1. Choose “All Visible Sensors” or
  2. Select a smaller subset of sensors on the list

After you’ve made that selection simply hit the “Bulk Actions” drop-down and then “Graph Data”

This will display your BinTalk data in the following format:

TIP: If you’d rather pair the graph down to just a couple sensors, click on the colors in the key to make the corresponding line is hidden. Don't worry, they’re not gone. Just re-click the same button and the line will reappear.

General Management of Sensor Threshold

To update, enable or disable certain alarms, simply navigate to the "Sensor" tab on the left-hand menu within your portal. From this menu you can manage settings for Temperature, Dry Contacts and Water Meters by clicking the "Actions" menu on the left-hand side

Water Meter Settings: Tips and Tricks

There are four different types of alarms available on each of your water meters:

  1. Time with zero flow
  2. Below three day average consumption
  3. Above three day average consumption
  4. Leak detection (in gallons per hour)

To enable any of the alarms listed above, simply log into our web portal and navigate to the water meter tab on the left-hand menu. From there, click on the water droplet icon for a specific meter and you'll be able to set each of the four alarms. You are also able to set a time range for when you want to receive leak detection alarms, as pictured below.

Call Tree Management

Another benefit of the BarnTalk Web Portal is the ability to manage team members who have access to each Gateway. Users on the call tree will have access to view data on their mobile app, but won't have immediate access to the Web Portal.

Under the "Barns" option on your left-hand menu, click on the "Actions" menu on the right-hand side. From there you can manage a call tree for any barn on your list. You can:

  1. Add or remove users
  2. Rearrange users on the call tree list
  3. Enable or disable notifications for specific people

NOTE: Disabling notifications for a user will still allow them to view sensor data in their mobile app.

Alarm Management and Data Analysis

Having alarm insight is the most important way to make sure your animals and barns are covered 24/7. To view alarm history and export data as needed, simply click on the Alarms tab on your left-hand menu. From there you have the following options:

  1. Turn alarms on or off for all sensors on a Gateway
  2. View when alarms are triggered and acknowledged
  3. See which specific sensors had Warnings or Emergencies
  4. Look at the Logs for each alarm to see which members of the call tree were alerted, and the specific time of day they received alerts

NOTE: You can also export historical alarm data for record keeping or audit purposes
