Installing BinTalk Pro
Turn on the sensor by opening the solar door and sliding the power switch on.
- Pair the sensor by opening the app, selecting your gateway, and choosing "Add Sensor" under the gear icon.
- If the sensor is already listed under the gateway, this step can be skipped.
- More details on how to pair a sensor here.
Optional: set the bin dimensions by following the prompts on the screen.
- BinTalk Pro can auto-calibrate once the bin is empty, so this step can be skipped.
- Secure the sensor to the bin collar and make sure it's straight up and down. We recommend using the self-tapping screws to secure it tightly.
- Attach the magnetic solar panel to the side of the bin with the most sunlight. Route the cord outside the bin to prevent it from getting pinched.
Test the sensor connection to the gateway. Open the solar panel cover and press the PAIR button on the lower right side.
- If 'ACK' light flashes GREEN, the sensor is connected.
- If 'Pair' flashes RED, it is not connected.
- Check the app to make sure the sensor is paired. If it does not show in the sensor list, repeat step 2.
- If the sensor does show in the app, it may be too far away from the
gateway/sensor antenna to establish a connection. Follow our guidelines here for best antenna placement.
- Label the bin using a permanent marker on the sticker provided with each sensor.
